Admitted to practice of law in Louisiana (1972) and in Colorado (1976).  Also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the 10th Circuit, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Middle District of Louisiana, and the District of Colorado.

From 1977, practice has been limited to tax planning and tax preparation, trusts and estate planning and probate, personal and business planning including succession planning, and business organizations.

Director, StorGard Development, LLC (Assets: $21,000,000), Lawrence, Kansas since 1986.  StorGard is a real estate developer, specializing in self-storage facilities, with interests in residential real estate development in Topeka, Kansas, and commercial real estate developments in Kansas, Missouri, and Florida.
Director and Secretary,
1mage Software, Inc., Arapahoe East, Colorado from March 1992 to the present.  1mage Software is a publicly-traded corporation engaged in the creation and marketing of software imaging systems for industry.  Serving on the Audit and Compensation Committees.

Marx/Okubo Associates, Ltd., Denver, Colorado from December 1992 to the present.  Trustee of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan since 2005.  Marx/Okubo is a privately-held consulting firm, providing services such as: owner representation, condition assessment, project management and construction consulting for both new and major renovations of commercial and multi-family residential facilities.  As of 2006, Marx/Okubo has eight offices in five states, 123 employees, with annual sales of $20 million.
Manager, Danos Rentals, LLC (Assets: $1,000,000), Greenwood Village, Colorado and its predecessor from 1988 to the present.  Manager, Normandy Development, LLC (Assets: $500,000), Bridge City, Louisiana and its predecessor from February 1980 to present.  President and Sole Director, Riverbend Corporation, General Partner, Riverbend Associates (Assets: $2,000,000) and of Normandy Associates (Assets: $1,000,000), both of Bridge City, Louisiana from 1975 to the present.   Each of the above is a family-owned real estate development company.
Vice-President for Administration, The Rose Group Incorporated and subsidiaries: Rose Manufacturing Company and Rose Systems, Inc., Englewood, Colorado from January 1992 to December 1992.  The Rose Group was a privately-held developer, manufacturer, and seller of safety equipment, specifically in the field of fall-protection and safety at heights.  Rose had 100 employees and $12 million in sales. Responsibilities included sales, contracts, personnel, and production.
General Manager with full power of attorney of Inuvay AG, a Swiss company with its major office in Düsseldorf, Federal Republic of Germany, from 1986 through 1988.  Inuvay developed and sold safety-related equipment, specifically, for safety at heights.  It was also the principal distributor of forged products for an unrelated US corporation.  Inuvay was a sister corporation to The Rose Group Incorporated.  Inuvay had six employees and sales of One Million Deutschmarks.
Manager of various trusts and related investment accounts from 1975 to the present.  Current asset value of all accounts is $10 million.

Director of Government Relations, Home Builders Association, Denver, CO   10/05 – Present    Implemented a collaborative model of government relations that emphasized working in partnership with municipalities to create desirable communities; this approach has helped to build a positive reputation for the organization in many municipalities.  Monitored municipal fees and other potential government mandates throughout the eight county metropolitan area and labored to find a reasonable solution for both the city and the development community, the most notable instance occurred when a municipality proposed a 500% increase to water fees; after negotiation the fee was reduced to a more manageable level, and phased in over a period of time.  Facilitated regular meetings between builders and city officials to encourage dialogue between the public and private sector regarding important building code and permitting issues; this policy of relationship building helped resolve contentious issues more easily because lines of communication and understand were developed through these non-combative meetings.
